Introduction

"Collectibles" are a special type of object inside the Calaxy platform that can be held in your wallet, bought*, resold*, and traded with your friends. Currently, you can upload and turn images and videos into Collectibles from inside your wallet. We will be expanding support for additional file formats soon.

What can I do with Collectibles?

When you create a Collectible from inside your Calaxy wallet, it will be added to the "Collectibles" tab in your wallet. Once the collectible is in your wallet, you can do some cool stuff with it:

1. Copy its share link and paste it in a new post on the home feed: Calaxy will render a really cool link preview of the collectible for everyone to see and check out.

2. Send it off app to a Collectibles marketplace*: like Rarible or Opensea to put up for sale or auction

3. Text it to a friend on Calaxy: You can text collectibles to your friends on Calaxy, which will transfer the collectible to their Calaxy wallet (they become the owners)

4. Use Collectibles as a reward mechanism for your community: If you are a Creator, maybe you turn your artwork or music into a collectible and run a contest inside your Membership WORLD or Fan Club - where the winner gets the Collectible (you would text them at the end of the contest) - lots of possibilities here.

There are a lot of things that can be done with Collectibles. Calaxy is at the very early stages of supporting different ways you can use (and eventually sell, auction, and trade*) collectibles.

*Calaxy does not currently support direct buying & selling of Collectibles on the platform, but you can send the Collectible to a third party marketplace for trading (if desired). We are however, considering introducing this functionality in the future.

💎 Creating A Collectible

To create a collectible in your Calaxy wallet:

1. Open the Wallet from the main nav bar

2. Tap the 3-dot wallet options menu (top right)

3. Select "Create Collectible"

4. Upload the image or video you want to turn into a collectible

5. Give your collectible a title and description

6. Add (optional) properties to your collectible

   1. Each property has a label and a value (eg. Image Size (label), 1080x1080px (value))

7. Tap "Create" button at the bottom

8. Review the preview to make sure everything looks good, then tap "Create Collectible"

Boom! Nice job. Once created, the collectible will be added to your Wallet > "Collectibles" tab in the form of a card.

🤲 Sharing A Collectible

To share a Collectible on the Calaxy home feed (or another social app):

1. Open the Wallet from the main nav bar

2. Tap the "Collectibles" tab

3. Tap on the collectible you want to share

4. Tap "View Collectible" to open it

5. Tap the 3-dot options menu from inside the Collectible

6. Tap "Share"

7. From the share slide up panel, you can share a link to the collectibles directly with active convos in other apps you frequent, or "Copy" the URL manually.

8. If you copied the URL manually, you can now paste it in a new post on any social app (or on the Calaxy home feed in a new post), which will render a nice link preview of the Collectible.
