Introduction

Premium DMs allow fans to send you different types of messages, for a fee. When you have Premium DMs enabled, it won't be possible for anyone that you are not following to message you, without paying to send the message. This is a great way to filter the noise and only receive messages from people willing to pay to get in your inbox! You can also price each message type separately.

💌 Enabling Premium DMs

To enable Premium DMs, do the following:

1. From your own profile, tap "Manage My Shop" (or "Setup Shop" if you haven't enable any products yet)

2. In the Services section, tap "Setup" beside the "Premium DMs" product

3. Set the Premium DM fee for each message type (eg. you can price a video message differently than a text message)

4. Tap "Activate Premium DMs" button to turn on Premium DMs

Congrats! Fans will now have to pay to send you messages. Premium DMs do not apply to anyone you are following.

📮 Receiving Premium Messages

There is no action required on part to receive premium DMs or get paid for them. Premium DMs simply mean the fan has to pay a fee for each message they send you. You can think of Premium DMs as postage for sending physical mail. You are paid out in real time as fans send you Premium DMs.

Do I have to respond to Premium DMs in order to get paid?

No. You get paid as soon as the fan sends the Premium DM. It would probably be advisable to read and respond to fans who are willing to pay for messages that land in your inbox, but its totally up to you!

Is there any way to disable Premium DMs for certain people I am chatting with?

If you want to bypass the Premium DM feature with a specific person, just follow them. Anyone you follow will be able to chat with you for free.
